Association Committee Meetings "ACT"

Association Committee Meetings "ACT" are held at the cabin at 7:00pm on the third Monday of the month. Check the Calendar for sure. These meetings are conducted to address any and all issues regarding the running and financing of our Girl Scout Association. Please consider joining! A shared task is an easier task. These meetings are always open to all members of the association.

Meetings Minutes are available from the secretary or on the Yahoo group after each meeting.

Cresta Blanca History

(Sep 05) Service Unit Directors - Linda Coensgen (SU2)  & Shelly Bagelmann (SU1)

(Sep 04) The association went back to having only one service unit meeting, and that was held in the new Library.  Sherry LaSalle stepped in to be our Service Unit Director, even though her daughter is no longer in scouting.  Each meeting this year was hosted by a Troop. The girls helped stuff folders, gave a brief performance and had a swap for all attendees. This made the meetings more fun for all the leaders.  Good job girls !!

(Sep 03) The association has really grown and this year we had to truly split the association into two separately functioning service units.  Each Service unit now meets separately for their monthly leader meetings.  While there are still association wide events, many events are now held for a particular service unit.  This has helped to alleviate the problems with many events "selling out" in one to two days.
Service Unit 1 Karen Schott is the new Service Unit director.  As of 12/99, SU1 has 53 troops with 403 registered girls.
Service Unit 2 Kristine Biehl is the new Service Unit director.  As of 12/99, SU2 has  58 troops with 439 registered girls.
There have been many changes in the coordinating team this year.  Many of the senior team members "graduated" from scouting, some long after their own girls graduated from scouting.  ACT now has many new faces taking on new positions.  We were sad to say goodbye to Mary Hayden, who served many years as our coordinator.  We wish her luck in her new home.
Association Coordinator - Suzanne Shelar;  Association Chair - Stacy Taylor

After many years of service, Pat Finale has moved on and stepped down as Association Chair.  We wish her luck in her new endeavors and thank you for all of years of service and guidance that she has provided for our association.

(Dec 99) Association Membership - As of 12/99, Cresta Blanca has 83 registered troops, 770 registered girls and 693 registered adults. Our FOGS (Friends of Girl Scouts) donations are down a bit, so let's try to reminder parents about the importance of supporting Girl Scouts.

(Aug 99) The LAVA Association is no more. It had grown to over 2300 members. With an Association of that size, it was getting too difficult to tend to the needs of all the members. So, it was decided to split into two sister associations. Livermore is now Cresta Blanca; Dublin/Pleasanton is now CrossRoads.
1999-2000:
The new Service Unit Directors are Stacy Taylor and Lori Eastridge. Many thanks to Sherry Lasalle (moving on to be a trainer and remaining to publish the newsletter) and Andrea Domer (Smith School organizer and Association Event Coordinator) for a wonderful two years as SUDs.

Friends of Girl Scouts Fundraising "FOGS"

Friends of Girl Scouts "FOGS" helps to fund camp activities and program services. Half of the amount above 110% of the money donated last year is returned to our association. We are short of our 110% goal by about $850. With 83 registered troops, 770 registered girls and 693 registered adults, we should be able to reach our goal. Remind your troop families the importance of supporting Girl Scouts. Aim for 100% participation, if every family made a $1-$5 donation, we would meet our goal. Virtually any vehicle, running or not, or personal property from land to computers to camping gear can be of value to the Girl Scouts. Some gifts are used in local Girl Scout programs, other donations are sold and funds used to support our programs.
